General Practitioners
Our medical practitioner team consists of senior GPs who completed their specialisation training in general practice and GP Registrars who are qualified doctors on a two-year training pathway to complete their specialisation training.
All our medical practitioners enjoy learning and teaching and invest significant time in continuously building their own knowledge and skills to enable them to work in collaboration to develop a plan to keep you in good health or get your health back on track.
Dr Alam Yoosuff
General Practitioner & Medical Director
Dr Alam Yoosuff is a General Practitioner and Medical Director at Shepparton Medical Centre. He brings nearly 20 years of experience as a rural generalist GP, having previously practised in Finley, New South Wales.
Dr Yoosuff has clinical interests in holistic care, emergency medicine and aged care, and is committed to strengthening primary health care services. He values continuity of care and the importance of taking time to understand patients’ individual needs through open, meaningful consultations. Dr Yoosuff is committed to supporting high-quality, patient-centred care for the local community.
Dr Robert Campbell
General Practitioner
Dr Robert Campbell is a General Practitioner who values the breadth and variety of general practice and the opportunity it provides to support patients across a wide range of health needs.
He takes a patient-centred approach, with a focus on education, prevention and shared decision-making, supporting patients to better understand and manage their own health. Dr Campbell values continuity of care and developing respectful, long-term relationships with patients and families. Outside of work, he enjoys rugby union, walking and maintaining an active lifestyle.
Dr Elizabeth Kennedy
General Practitioner
Dr Elizabeth Kennedy is a senior General Practitioner who has practised since 1985. She provides comprehensive primary care at Shepparton Medical Centre, with clinical interests in women’s health and mental health.
Her women’s health services include contraceptive advice, fertility care, and IUD/Mirena insertions. Dr Kennedy values continuity of care and building long-term, respectful relationships with patients and families. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Dr Edmund Siauw
General Practitioner
Dr Edmund Siauw has provided care to the Shepparton community for over 20 years. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and completed his training locally at the Shepparton Rural Clinical School and GV Base Hospital.
His clinical interests include skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, focused psychological strategies (CBT), and chronic disease management. Dr Siauw values patient-centred care, continuity and long-term relationships.
Dr Saif Aswad
General Practitioner
Dr Saif Aswad has been caring for the Goulburn Valley community since 2017. He has prior experience in emergency medicine in Sydney and Perth and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). He joined Shepparton Medical Centre in 2018.
His clinical interests include chronic disease management and skin cancer care. Dr Aswad values continuity of care and building respectful, long-term relationships with patients and families. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and has made Shepparton his home.
Dr Victor Ohuche
General Practitioner
Dr Victor Ohuche has provided care to the Goulburn Valley community since 2021. He has experience at Goulburn Valley Health and in general practice settings.
His clinical interests include emergency medicine, chronic disease management, paediatrics, mental health, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. Dr Ohuche values continuity of care and developing respectful, long-term relationships with patients and families. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, bike riding and spending time with his family.
Dr Chanika Rathnayaka
General Practitioner
Dr Chanika Rathnayaka is a General Practitioner with over 14 years of clinical experience, including work at Goulburn Valley Health. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Elderly Medicine, supporting her clinical interests in geriatric care and chronic disease management.
She takes a holistic, patient-centred approach with a focus on prevention, early intervention and ongoing support for individuals and families. Dr Rathnayaka values continuity of care and developing respectful, long-term relationships with patients. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and exploring new destinations.
Dr Nisreena Gaffoordeen
General Practitioner
Dr Nisreena is a General Practitioner who has been caring for the Goulburn Valley community since 2022. She has hospital experience in Sri Lanka and at GV Health, including emergency medicine, general medicine, surgery, oncology, mental health and critical care.
Her clinical interests include preventative care, women’s health, paediatrics and chronic disease management. Dr Nisreena values continuity of care and developing respectful, long-term relationships with patients and families. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and travelling.
Dr Ave Maria Ohuche
General Practitioner
Dr Ave Maria Ohuche is a GP Registrar at Shepparton Medical Centre. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and has been practising medicine for nine years. Over the past four years, she has gained clinical experience at Goulburn Valley Health, Shepparton.
Dr Ohuche has worked across general medicine, general surgery, paediatrics, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynaecology, rehabilitation and emergency medicine. Her clinical interests include women’s health, dermatology, skin cancer medicine and minor procedures. She provides patient-centred care and supports health promotion and preventive care.
Dr Mukta Das
General Practitioner
Dr Mukta Das is a GP Registrar at Shepparton Medical Centre. She has been practising medicine since 2009 and has experience across a range of clinical settings.
Dr Das has clinical interests in women’s health, paediatrics and chronic disease management. She is committed to patient-centred, evidence-based care and values prevention, careful listening and shared decision-making to support patients in managing their health.
Nurses
Our nurses are highly qualified and capable healthcare providers. All of our practice nurses are division 1 registered nurses with additional qualifications.
They are often the unsung heroes of primary care and assist our medical practitioners in the delivery of healthcare, obtaining your medical history when you are a new patient to our clinic. They lead preventative care in immunisations, health checks and are at the centre of your chronic disease management team. If you live with diabetes or cardiovascular diseases, it is likely that one of our nurses will work with you to set and achieve your health goals.
Jane
Lead Practice Nurse
Jane is a Practice Nurse with over 35 years of nursing experience across hospital, community health, rural and remote settings, and general practice. She has a background in midwifery and lactation consultancy.
In general practice, Jane’s role focuses on preventative health care across all ages. She has a particular interest in diabetes prevention and management, supporting patients to develop self-management skills and live well with chronic illness.
Allyson
Practice Nurse
Allyson is a Practice Nurse with 12 years of experience in general practice. Her clinical interests include women’s health, chronic disease management and asthma education.
Allyson enjoys supporting patients through preventative care and ongoing health management. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
Rajeena
Practice Nurse
Rajeena is a Practice Nurse with 25 years of nursing experience, including clinical instruction and registered nursing roles.
Her clinical interests include immunisation, health assessments and chronic disease management. Rajeena values supporting patients through preventative care and ongoing health needs. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as cooking and gardening.

Neurologist
Dr David Prentice is trained as a Clinical Pharmacologist, Neurologist with a specific interest in chronic migraine.
Dr Maxwell Braddick
Infectious Disease Specialist
Maxwell Braddick is an infectious diseases physician with an interest in travel and tropical medicine. He provides care for people living with HIV and viral hepatitis. He completed his medical studies at the University of Queensland (UQ) in 2015, earned a Masters of Public Health from UQ in 2017, and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2023.
Dr Ubaidullah Dawood
General Physician and Nephrologist
Ubaid joined the Goulburn Valley Health community in the spring of 2021. He completed a Nephrology fellowship in Adelaide, SA, and spent his first 5 years as nephrologist in Singapore at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). He developed a special niche towards peritoneal dialysis (PD) in the treatment of End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and pursued PD as a sub speciality of interest. He is also a fellow with the Academy Medicine of Singapore (FAMS) and took up a director of PD program role in a brand-new public hospital in Northern Singapore before returning to Australia.
As a senior clinician, Ubaid is responsible for day to day medical and renal patient management. Ubaid is currently in the midst of initiating a regional PD service in GV area. Besides his clinical role, he also involved in medical student teaching and education for junior medical staff at the Goulburn Valley Hospital.
Ubaid’s professional interests include effective delivery of medical and renal care service at the highest level, research involvement, leadership participation and community health promotion and empowerment.
Outside work, Ubaid enjoys travelling and spending time with his kids – they are his main interest and keep him busy. He also interested in cooking, outdoor soccer and is a massive Manchester United fan in English Premier League.
Dr Tom Schulz
Infectious Diseases Physician
Dr Tom Schulz is an Infectious Disease Physician with a specific interest in refugee and immigrant health and provides care for those with hepatitis B and C.
Mr Bryden Dawes
Neurosurgeon
Dr Bryden Dawes is a Neurosurgeon who manages all general neurosurgical conditions and is passionate about providing individualised high-quality patient centred care. He has completed extensively trained in the latest minimally invasive techniques and uses these to improve patient outcomes and recovery.

Clara is an experienced healthcare operations manager with a strong background in primary health, Aboriginal health, community health, and aged care. She brings expertise in healthcare accreditation, clinical and corporate governance, change management, and risk management. Clara is passionate about building equitable, inclusive, and accessible health services that support high-quality, culturally safe, and patient-centred care through effective systems and teamwork.
